About

Filmmaker Pam Sykes tells stories in many different media, always driven by deep curiosity about what makes people and the world tick. She is the founder of Digital Storytelling South Africa, a former tech PR nerd and a current PhD student. Louise's Miracles was made as part of a documentary film course taught by Francois Verster in the Centre for Humanities Research at the University of the Western Cape.

Subject Louise Westerhout is a poet, healer and performance artist who has worked internationally as an educator, reiki master, therapist and medium. As a disabled person and cancer survivor most of her work explores themes of illness, physicality, consciousness and healing. She is co-­founder of Intermission, a multimedia artist collaboration which performed Admission at the GIPCA Live Arts Fest 2014. She is currently commissioned by Swallowing the World (UCT and the Wellcome Trust) to facilitate poetry workshops for people living with TB.
